Robertson Northern achieved the Ecohomes "excellent" rating for the landmark project which is one of the first Scottish housing developments to utilise a Biomass heating system.
Measured Benefit
This unique Biomass heating system uses carbon-free woodchip from local forestry and sawmills to provide a sustainable and affordable alternative to traditional carbon-producing heating systems. This means affordable energy for future homeowners and it is expected that the new Biomass plant in Dalfaber Industrial Estate will save approximately 800 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
Originally a 5 year build programme but reduced to 3 years by using timber frame and efficient trades integration through close liaison between Robertson Timberkit, Robertson Northern, Robertson Highland and Robertson Homes.
